Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at soultymes@outlook.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A:  I accompany dying people and their circle of care. I help to educate and conceptualize the process of dying. I advocate for their wishes and their autonomy.

A: No. I do not replace hospice or medical professionals. Instead, I complement their services — offering additional time, compassion, and continuity that clinical teams often cannot provide.

A: I serve clients who are either at home or in a facility in Lower Bucks County, including Middletown Township and Lower Makefield Township, Pennsylvania.

A: A Discovery Call is a free, no-obligation conversation to discuss your needs, answer questions, and see whether my support is a good fit for you.  The Client Reflection Sheet on this site can serve to guide you for this call.

 A: My rates are:

Monthly Fee: $300 for unlimited phone and text support
Hourly Rate: $50 for in-person visits and in-patient visits
A contract and service plan are discussed during the Discovery Call.

  • Flexibity with payments is possible.

Visit frequency is tailored to your situation. We’ll discuss what feels right for you and your family — whether that means daily check-ins, weekly visits, or as-needed support.
In addition to in-person visits, I also provide connection through phone calls and text messages for continued reassurance and guidance between visits.
My goal is to provide consistency, calm, and practical help in the ways that serve you best.

Unfortunately, doula services are not currently covered by most insurance companies — even though they often help reduce hospital costs and improve overall care experiences.

Yes. End-of-life doulas offer steady, compassionate support that helps families feel less overwhelmed. By assisting with planning, communication, and emotional care, doulas ease the strain that often leads to caregiver burnout.

The McMaster Optimal Aging Portal (McMaster University, 2021) notes that doulas “provide practical, emotional, and spiritual support to those who are dying and to their loved ones,” helping to fill important gaps in care and comfort.

No. End-of-life doula care is not a spiritual or religious service. It focuses on emotional support, clear communication, and practical guidance — always centered on your values and beliefs.

Client Reflection Worksheet

Before Talking to a Doula

Before meeting with a doula, take a few moments to reflect on your needs, values, and priorities.

These questions can help guide your conversation and clarify what kind of support feels most meaningful.

· What kind of support do I feel I need most right now (emotional, spiritual, practical, or companionship)?

· What experiences or beliefs shape the way I think about dying, death, or grief?

· What kind of presence helps me feel safe and supported?

· Who do I want included in my circle of care?

· What boundaries or sensitivities should my doula be aware of?

· What would make me feel most at peace in the days or weeks ahead?

· How might my family or loved ones benefit from doula support?

· Are there fears, hopes, or values I’d like to share that might guide my care?

What is a Circle of Care?

A Circle of Care is the compassionate community that surrounds a person and their loved ones with presence, comfort, and dignity through life’s final chapter.
